‘Fidget Spinners’ are the latest craze around the nation right now, as some refer to it as “The Hula-Hoop of Gen-Z,” but is it really that big of a deal?
These little Spinners started out as kits that you would make at home, and could be purchased in various places across the internet, but more recently have been taken to the big leagues by large online retailers such as Amazon, and even in-store at some Walmart’s, and consist of nothing but a small three-spoke sheet of metal with holes at each end, along with a joy-stick like button on an axis in the middle. The idea behind this little device is that you can hold it in your hand, and use your thumb to move the stick around in various patterns, keeping your mind at ease, and from fidgeting with something like your phone case to the point that all the seems are falling apart and torn… (No, I totally haven’t done that to my last 3 cases.)
So it seems that this would be an all-out win for people like me who tend to always need to be fidgeting with something, but some people just aren’t having it. More specifically, teachers. Over-time, these little devices tend to get dirty, and start to grime up to the point that they make a grinding noise, which some teachers have deemed “a distraction.” Some schools have even gone as far as banning these little devices in class rooms.

Where do you stand on this? Would you drop the whopping $2.99 on one of you had the option?
